Accessibility Statement

We want everyone to enjoy a stay at The Old Milking Parlour. This page describes the property honestly so you can decide whether it suits your needs. If you have any questions at all, please call or email us — we're always happy to talk through the details or send extra photos and measurements.

Arrival & Parking

  • Most guests park just over the road, around 10–20 steps from the cottage.
  • If you need to be closer, you are welcome to park in the yard, just steps from the front door — let us know and we'll keep it clear for you.
  • The courtyard and parking areas are gravel, which can be harder going for wheelchairs and those unsteady on their feet.
  • There is one low step at the entrance.

Ground Floor

  • The main bedroom (king-size bed), the bathroom, and the open-plan living, dining and kitchen area are all on the ground floor — a stay can be enjoyed entirely without using the stairs.
  • The bathroom has a large walk-in shower. Please note there is currently no grab rail or shower seat.
  • The hallway has a low beam — taller guests need to mind their head.
  • The living area has a vaulted ceiling with good natural light from the patio doors.

First Floor — The Twin Room

  • The twin bedroom is up a "hit and miss" staircase — steeper than a standard staircase, with narrower treads, a handrail on one side and a stairgate at the top.
  • It is not suitable for guests with limited mobility. Parties who cannot use the stairs can sleep two comfortably in the ground-floor king bedroom.

Outdoors & The Farm

  • The private courtyard is gravel with garden furniture seating six.
  • The surrounding farmland is natural and uneven — fields, a lane, and grass paths. A stream with steep banks runs alongside the pig run, so children should be accompanied.
  • Some animal areas are up or down slopes and may be muddy after rain.

Dogs & Assistance Dogs

Dogs are welcome by arrangement, and assistance dogs are always welcome. Please let us know when booking so we can have everything ready.

Anything We Haven't Covered?
